Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Explain the three Technical, Behavioural and Contextual competences that underpin project management.
  • Demonstrate in detail their strengths and weaknesses against each competency based on a knowledge and experience scoring evaluation system.
  • Establish a baseline plan for future career development and improvement of competences identified as being deficient.
  • Discuss the five major project management process groups and their associated sub processes in terms of inputs, tools and techniques and outputs for each.
  • Recommend the optimum combination of processes to be deployed for the management of projects in their business sector.
  • Discuss the ten vertical stovepipes/elements of knowledge that supports the project management body of knowledge.
  • Illustrate the linkages between the ten knowledge areas and the 47 sub-processes of the five major process groups.
  • Devise a comprehensive integrated project plan that addresses all of the following project elements – scope, time, cost, quality, HR, communications, stakeholder management, risk and procurement.
Project Life Cycle

Project Initiating

Processes performed to define a new project or a new phase of an existing project by obtaining authorization to start the project or phase.

Project Planning

Admission Requirements

  • A level 7 degree, or equivalent qualification from a recognised body.
  • If you don’t have a third level qualification but have relevant professional work experience, you may be invited to interview (personal or telephone as appropriate) with the Course Director to assess your suitability.
  • Applications will be reviewed by the Institute’s Admissions Assessment Board. A CV will be required to check the eligibility.

Well-organised course

How is the course assessed?

There are three components on your course assessment: two written assignments (self-assessment at the beginning of the course and a project at the end) and one final exam (MCQs + Scenario style questions).

Is this course applicable to any industry?

Yes, the content of the programme is suitable for various fields. We have many students from different backgrounds, like engineering, pharmaceuticals, design, construction, IT and many others, who completed the course successfully.

What is included in the course fee?

The course fees include the examination and certification fees, access to all course materials on the Student Hub, live expert-led virtual classes, recordings and unlimited support from our Student Success team.

What payment options are available?
  • Full payment before the start of the course
  • 50/50 instalment payment option: the first instalment of 50% should be paid upfront, and the remainder halfway through the course (week 7).
How much time do I need to spend every week to complete the course?

Live virtual classes run one evening per week, from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. Plan to spend approximately 4 to 6 hours each week on the core material and reflecting on what you have learned. However, as you can appreciate, this is very dependent on each individual’s capability.

If I don’t have the necessary academic qualifications, can I still be admitted?

Candidates without a third level qualification, but with relevant professional work experience, will be considered. You need to send us your CV to be reviewed by an assessor.

Are the course qualifications internationally recognised?

Yes, the course outcomes are recognised internationally in over 70 countries.

Can I miss 1-2 classes?

A recording of each online lecture will be available for playback in the Student Hub for a limited period of time, so you do not need to worry about missing a class.
