Miles Shepherd is a past President and Chairman of the International Project Management Association (IPMA) and is also a former chairman and honorary Fellow of the Association for Project Management (APM) UK. He is an Associate Lecturer and research supervisor for the Open University, Visiting Fellow at Bournemouth University, and Honorary Senior Research Fellow at University College, London.

Miles has over 30 years experience on defence, major IT projects, and decommissioning of nuclear reactors in the UK and Eastern Europe. Recent assignments have also included major rail and business development projects, including a major collaborative project for the European Commission to strengthen accreditation capabilities in Eastern European countries, and the development of postgraduate project management education in Romania.

He has chaired conferences on many project and IT related topics such as e-project management, the development of project management as a profession, the management of Government IT Projects, and project management for the Public Sector.
