Former CIA PM Guru to address Dublin Class

The Dublin cohort of the Certified Project Management  Diploma will be given a best in class presentation by Mike O’Brochta on May 11 who is on a brief visit to Ireland. As senior project manager at the CIA,   Mike led the project management and systems engineering training and certification program to mature practices agency-wide.

Mike, who has been a project manager for over thirty years,is an experienced consultant, line manager, author, and speaker. He is in much demand as a keynote and speaker covering circa twenty national, international, and regional conferences per year.

Mike’s presentation – Great Project Managers -  describes how to become a great project manager and identifies a list of top factors associated with such individuals.

A central theme is that great project managers have mastered the basics, and have the discipline to adhere to them.

It defines great project management through the telling of one of the most compelling seagoing expeditions of all time. This dovetails perfectly with the speaker following Mike who is Frank Nugent author,  Shackleton expert  and one of Ireland’s foremost expeditioners

This presentation draws on recently published results of studies and research about what  top project managers know and do, about why their projects succeed or fail, and about their project manager competencies.
