Finance For Project Managers

Finance for Project Managers

Course Overview

Financial decisions made by senior managers are often dependent on the data provided by project managers. This course allows the project manager to see the story from the accountant’s perspective.

Shifting business, technology, and market conditions can rearrange project priorities. In managing and controlling the project portfolio, decisions involve re-visiting your projects' critical success factors - including resource availability and the continued validity of the business case - with the business sponsors. Those decisions also require a re-alignment of the project portfolio, which may or may not affect other projects in the portfolio. This programme describes the project portfolio management practices that provide the capability to effectively meet these challenges and insure that your organization maximizes its return on investment.

Who Should Attend?

Strong financial understanding and application is a requirement of any manager in today’s workplace. This course is specially designed for project managers and other stakeholders to broaden their understanding of financial concepts and how these concepts apply to decisions to invest in projects and the expected rates of return. It aims to give a thorough grounding in financial management and the provision of financial information (reporting) on projects
