David Pells is a Fellow and past member of the Board of Directors of the Project Management Institute (PMI®). He is past president of the Eastern Idaho and Dallas PMI chapters; founder and Chair of PMI's first Specific Interest Group (SIG); founder and Chair of the Global Project Management Forums (meetings of leaders of PM associations from around the world); and founder and Chair of the American Project Management Forums (meetings of PM representatives from various US government agencies in Washington, DC). Mr. Pells was awarded PMI's prestigious Person-of-the-Year Award in 1998 and highest award, the PMI Fellow Award, in 1999.
David is the managing editor for www.pmforum.org, the world's first (and still one of the most popular) website devoted to professional project management, and for the monthly eJournal PM World Today (www.pmworldtoday.net). He has over 30 years of PM-related experience in a wide variety of industries, programs and projects, including engineering, construction, transit, defense and high technology, and project sizes ranging from several thousand to ten billion dollars.
